We have begun
Today's harvest
We have everything out on the freezer looking pretty for their portrait. We also have a pretty Brandywine, Paul Robeson, Golden Jubilee, Costoluto Genovese, two blushing Nebraska Wedding (I think), six Siberian, black cherries and Principe Borghese. |

Nice finally i feel your pain? Mine also, now i have given a ton away already,.My wife said where are the red huge ones, i said brandywine's are slow every year, i gave her a huge Marianns peace.
You do know to store then upside down, the final green tops should by on the bottom. They start changing slowly then overnight BOOM, I then flip them over for 1 day. Then enjoy, it took me a while to figure this out for my favorites Blacks, Krim, Tula, Carbon, Robeson this is my new Fav |

I can't wait for things to FULLY ripen. The only thing we have been able to eat other than cherries so far have been a couple of White Wonder's and a Hillbilly.
I am looking more closely at what I think may be a Nebraska Wedding and think it may actually be another White Wonder plant. What appeared to be a yellowy tinge this morning that looked like it was going orangy is now creamy coloured. |

Congratulations Uber! Your efforts are paying off now. It's a bit reversed for us now, since the heat (heat index hit 118 recently) has pretty much wound up my spring/summer patch. Some are still trying to produce, but the bonanza and big ones are over.
I'm interested to hear more about your Nebraska Wedding. I always thought that was such a good name, but I never heard much it, and what little I heard suggested that the taste was bland. I'd just like to hear your experience with it. Keep us posted. DS

Great tomates, now the fun begins. How am I going to put them up(can or freeze), where will I put them to finish ripening, how many slices can I fit on my BLT? I was lucky enough to put up 17 qts of juice, give away to family, make green tomatoe relish, salsa and tomato soup. Those are good times. I'm like TomatoDon mine are about finished, now just hoping for fall toms.

LOL Neva...very true. I am getting my hands on my mom's pressure canner soon so I am hoping to get some stewed tomatoes and sauce done.
@TomatoDon What I figured for a Nebraska Wedding is not. I swore up and down that it had an orange tinge to it when it blushed but it quickly went yellowish and now is ripening to a cream colour. So I have two White Wonder plants in the garden. I was kind of hoping for a Nebraska Wedding too if anything just for more variety. |
