wrinkled tomatoes?
Hi,
Some of my tomatoes are sort of wrinkled and a little soft in places - not BER, no discoloration. It happens to some of the smaller fruit on the plant but not to all fruits on the plant. I will try to get a pic, but does this sound familiar to anyone? |

Just a guess.

Have you looked at sun scald and see if that looks like what you are seeing?

I agree, I think it may be some sun scald or effects of dryness. I think I'm
seeing the same thing where foliage is sparce. I'm not watering as much as I would like to out of consideration for our well. I'm also finding a few almost ripe toms that almost appear to be "boiled in the skin"- very mottled looking and very soft to the touch (and unuseable!) Darlene |

I will sometimes see a small, early fruit do that on a plant.
Usually they are almost ripe. I wonder if it is some sort of abscision, where the water supply through the stem that attaches the fruit to the flower cluster gets cut off prematurely.
