Started my maters
Hi everyone. I started my 2011 maters. I was trying real hard to keep it at 50 varieties, but I wasn't able. I'll prolly plant a few more because I have a few trades coming in. I'd love to try yellow submarine, but haven't been able to acquire seeds. I was sure I had some, but if I did, I hid them from myself.

I may plant a few more that cone to me in the next few days. It was hard to whittle all my maters down to this, but everyone has their limits. I sowed 5 of each and by the time I get these set out, I will have a tomato jungle! Woo! |

That's a nice looking list. What kind of production do you get from the Cowlick Brandywine (approx. number of fruit per plant)?

Mark,
Hard to say because I didn't get it set out in time last fall. Seems to take a good while to produce here. I know when the first frost hit, I had several golf ball sized green ones. I'm looking forward to growing it again. |

I did the same thing last year setting out over 80 varieties by the time I had set out my fall tomatoes. This year I will have to cut back dramatically. I ended up giving away more than I kept and I filled the freezer with sauce.
The one Cowlick's I had that produced good made around 25 tomatoes. I was a little disappointed with the size of the fruit which was between 6 and 11 ounces. I was expecting some pounders off of it but never got any. My fall plant also was slow to produce and got caught with nothing but golf ball size fruits on it when the freezes hit. |

Many new sprouts
I've got my spring batch planted too. I normally don't start from seed. Is there a trick to keeping the new sprouts going. I have 25 each of six new variety's I chose from Tatiana's on-line store. About a third of them have sprouted overnight. Will they be okay to keep inside or do I need to show them a little sunlight tomorrow? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
