Earl's Faux
I am growing EF again for about the 4th or 5th year, and can't for the life of me remember if it is a slow starter. By that I mean gaining height and putting out flower trusses. It is the only variety of 22 that is going this slow.
It has a good spot and gets the same treatment as the others. Could some of you please refresh my memory. It has been planted out for about 3 weeks, 13 inches high, no blossom trusses yet. EF has always been a reliable variety here. |

Creister - I'm growing it for the first time and so far it is slow to set fruit. I have two E.F. plants and they are growing well and flowering, but, they are the only plants that don't yet have fruit set. I see on Tatiana's that it is a 75-80 day variety, and that is slow to me.

I am growing it for the first time this year and it is slower than most of the other plants set out at the same time but I don't think it is anything to worry about yet.

Earls Faux out produced all other tomatoes out of the 42 varieties in my earthboxes this year. they were all about 1lb. plus in weight with the biggest at 33 oz.

I did not see slow growth with my EF plant last year. It was about 80 da. to ripeness but the flavor was outstanding. For me, production was average.

Have grown Earl's Faux for a couple years now. The first year I grew them (rainy and cool year), they had some trouble with "BER" but once the weather dried out somewhat that cleared up and they did quite well. Last year they didn't do so well as we had one of the worst droughts I can recall. They still produced tomatoes which ripened about the same time as other Brandywine types but they were smaller and not near as plentiful. Still a tomato I grow every year though. Good Luck!

TSWV got my first Earl's Faux so all I have left is one in a bucket that is not looking so good. Oh well maybe someone will send me some more seeds for next year and I can give it another try.
