Quantum t5 badboy 16 bulb vs 600w hid

I'm planning on getting a new grow light to go with my 5x5 mylar grow tent some say hid lighting has better light penetration than a t5 grow light even the new badboy t5, but I want to hear from others experience on both of these light systems. Honestly I really want to get the16 bulb badboy but I'm open to others say about these lights. Thanks for your help. I'm going to use it to grow tomatoes.
