Default What variety is this tomato?

Hi. I wanted to know what variety is this tomato. It's not a caspian or brandywine because it has regular leafs not a potato leaf.
I have grown this variety for first year. It's an old variety.

There really is no way to identify such a variety by name just looking at a picture.

Do you know if it was brought to Greece b/c when I was in Greece I didn't see any large pink fruited varieties, well, let me say I didn't see any fruits that looked liked that.

It isn't uncommon to have a variety be brought to another country but once the name is lost, it's lost.

Where in Greece are you from and garden? When I was there I loved the people, the food, the wine festivals, all the islands I visited, but my heavens I didn't see much fertile land that would lend itself to home gardeners.

Do you have a garden at home where you raise vegetables/fruits, etc.?

I wish I could help with your tomato but once a name is lost, if it ever had one, there's no way to know what it is.

Are you sure you sent me a PM message because I just checked and there's no message from you to me. You need to click on my user name above my avatar (picture below my user name), and then select Private Message to send a PM.

But I think others might be interested in what you have to say about the tomato you picture so why don't you share here in your thread with everyone who might be interested?

It's much better to share information here in the public forums so that everyone who wants to can participate.

Some folks might suggest that Anatolian Pink is closely related to Caspian Pink. Send me a few of those tomatoes, I'll eat them, and let you know for sure.

It sounds like a very good tomato .

Are all the fruits on one plant the same so that one plant has all ball shaped tomatoes and another plant will have the ones that you pictured?

Don't worry about your English. The only GreeK words I know have to do with food, such as baklava and many more. And now you've brought back some wonderful memories to me of my visit to Greece many years ago.

I'm glad to hear about your tomato but I do think it might be very hard to give it a known variety name. But enjoy it anyway.

I was joking with you, taraballoo. But in fact, all the Caspian Pinks I ever grew also had regular leaf vines and made tomatoes that looked very much like the ones in your picture. Of course that doesn't make those Caspian Pink. What did the woman from Turkey call them?
