Sounds interesting but I'm skeptical.

Not for all the tea in China.

WHUT!!!! I'm still trying to figure out what the problem is. Peanut Butter goes with everything. Jelly, bananas, potato chips, apple butter, cold cuts, ham, spam, cheese, tomatoes, apples, fried okra, pork chops, chicken strips, bacon, breakfast steaks, sausage, french fries, etc. I consider it one of the "for real" basic foods.

Didn't everybody know that?????

One of the best is Peanut Butter, regular mustard, and fried sliced hot dogs on a multi-grain sliced bread.

Ted, I didn't think anything could make my stomach quiver more than the PBT sandwich. But you have achieved it. Ewwwwwww!

I love home grown tomatoes and I love peanut butter; can't think of a reason I would not like them together. So may have to try it. Could not be any worse than what one of my friends does to the tomatoes I give her. She puts sugar on them and eats them. Ugh

You forgot celery!

Oh, now I will eat peanut butter on celery. I haven't gotten my nerve up to try "bugs on a log" - peanut butter on celery with raisins on top. Not sure about that one.

No, I didn't forget it. My DW and #2 son like celery and peanut butter. I don't care for that particular use of PB because I'm not a huge fan of celery other than in soup.

But, I did forget about all kind of cookies - like Oreos.

I had heard that the human body uses protein to make the chemicals that help us sleep. So, one of my favorite "before bedtime" snacks is Club crackers with peanut butter and spam or diced ham, and all washed down with a tall glass of whole milk.

I'm game to try anything once (well almost anything) ... I'll put the PBT on my list of to-do's when I get some tomatoes in about a month, weather cooperating. We called the raisins on peanut butter & celery Ants on Log, the raisins add a nice zip to the combo, definitely better with them on.

oc tony - I'll give it a try, but like matereater I'm skeptical.

ContainerTed - You have truly interesting taste.

feldon30 - I would guess that most people are familiar with the "not for all the tea in china" expression. Being the curious type I wondered how much tea is in china? In 1983 they produced 401,000 metric tons which was 2nd to India's 588,000 tons. The Chinese have gotten a bit secretive since then, but by all estimates they are still a close 2nd to India. My other question is what do the Chinese say? I haven't found an answer, maybe "not for all the corn in the United States"?

This all sounds like the kind of stuff my wife used to eat before we were married. It's taken me 25 years but I've made a meat and potatoes type of person out of her. Occasionally I'll give in and eat some eggplant and other things but I draw the line at TOFU.
