Ever Eat What You Were Planning To Save?

Mid-July and I still have isolated tomatoes coming in. I grabbed the last Spudakee on the 9th and was letting it ripen up for seed-saving.

This morning, without thinking about it, I ate it.

Mind you, it was quite tasty. But I didn't realize what I was doing until it was gone.

Yep. It happens, Last year I messed up and gave the contractor I have work on my house a bag full of goodies I was planing to save seeds from.

Nope- I tie a piece of hot pink yarn around the stem of the tomatoes that are for seed saving while they are still on the plant after removing the tulle bag. The yarn stays on until the tomato is cut. It's too hard to get those tomatoes to set inside of the bags to make a mistake!

It's what they make wedding veils from, I had to ask this about 8 years ago on garden web.

Its like a netting.
