Safe to eat?
Is it safe to eat tomatoes from a diseased plant/plant with a virus?

I BELIEVE THIS WAS DISCUSSED ABOUT ONE YEAR AGO HERE ON T'VILLE AND THE CONSENSUS WAS THAT BACTERIA, FUNGI & VIRUSES THAT INFECT TOMATOES ARE NOT HARMFUL TO HUMANS. THAT WAS FROM CAROLYN AND DOES NOT EXTEND TO TOMATOES THAT ARE PARTIALLY ROTTEN.

I assume that as long as the tomato looks alright when you cut it open it should be good.
And to be honest I'd rather eat a homegrown tomato from a plant with issues than any fruit or vegetable from the store. Aside from the harsh chemicals used to grow them, who knows what else happened in the field they were grown in....
