Goose Creek
I obtained seeds of Goose Creek from a SSE listed member. The first Goose Creek I tasted, about a week ago, was good tasting, but nothing to brag about IMO. I just ate my second Goose Creek tomato, and this one impressed me! It was quite delicious.....sweet, with a salty flavor as well. The texture was smooth.
Anyone else growing this variety? I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. |

I grew Goose Creek (Pink from Gleckers) and it was really great. Will definately grow again. I am feeding it and looks like it will put out another round of maters. Linda

I grew it last year. A few fruits were so bad I spit them out. I suspect that it had something to do with heat or sun scald because the rest were some of the sweetest best tasting tomatoes I have ever eaten.

Goose Creek (seeds originally from one of Laurel's plants in L. A.) has been my hands down #1 favorite for the past 3 years:
A really nice slightly sweet taste initially, then a smooth finish. Raybo |

Goose Creek has joined my 'always plant' list. To me, it has a distinctive flavor that calls to mind Prue.

Talon,
Now that you are in the "production stage", how about posting some photos of the plants and fruits, as you get a chance. Also, are you experiencing any BER on the Goose Creek? Raybo |

It might be interesting for some of you to read the above link for a prior discussion about Goose Creek. I just don't have the energy to go back and find that original one that I referred to in the above link but it was Corona Barb weighing in on plants she got from Laurel, and more. I think I have the link on page one now b'c the first time I posted it it was on page two. If it turns out to be page two, just go back to page one.

Thanks for the link Carolyn.
The two ripe Goose Creek tomatoes I had were pink and medium sized.. They didn't look real ripe(they were pink....not dark pink either), but they felt ripe when I gave them a little squeeze. They tasted ripe. I'm looking forward to eating more, as I have three of these plants. Thanks for the replies so far. |

We loved Goose Creek! Delicious medium sized tomatoes covered the plants. Ordered seeds from Remy and will definitely plant this one next year. Before any had started ripening, one of the plants had 28 tomatoes on it!

Man, from everyone's wonderful descriptions and Ray's beautiful pictures, I really want to grow this next year. But i am afraid that it just won't do well in my PNW climate. Furthermore, I am scared to take too many risks on my varieties as I have limited growing space (only room for about 5 container maters, which will hopefuly change when I buy a home).
Ahh, I think that only those of you who visit these forums and love tomatoes as I do understand why this is such an important decision. Any advice? Nate |
