When to Plant Potatoes in the Gulf South
I am in South Louisiana. Books here used to recommend planting the fall potato crop in late August, whole potatoes only, not pieces with eyes. It has been a hot year, so I was considering delaying anyway, but one of the farmers at the local farmers market says she always plants in mid September anyway.
Anyone else care to weigh in on when to plant fall potatoes in the deep south (Gulf Coast)? |

I'm in AZ. I got some seed potatoes from somebody in East TX, zone 8. He's planting this week and I think I'll wait for 90 degree weather. I'll just plant a small amount since we're supposed to plant spring potatoes Dec15-jan 15.
