Default Your favorite sweet red or pink?

My husband has now figured out that he likes sweet tomatoes. They are not really my cup of tea - I like one with good balance - but next year I'd like to grow some just for him. This year his favorite so far was Danko, which I have to admit was excellent, so I will be growing three of those next year, but I have room for more. What is your favorite sweet red or pink tomato? No cherries, please - we need medium/big tomatoes. Thanks!

I have never grown it, so take this with a grain of salt, but if I were looking for a really sweet variety I would try 'Lee's Sweet', a large pink heart available from J&L Gardens. It looks and sounds delicious!

Momotaro and Goose Creek are very sweet.
But if you like balanced tomato taste you should try Bulgarian Triumph. If you let it fully ripen on the vine it's taste is very sweet at first with divine aftertaste.

This year, my favorite sweet pink tomato is Pruden's Purple. It's sweet but balanced, with very little gel, a really solid tomato.

Also pretty good is Cour di Albengia, a red pear-shaped tomato. The gel has a little bite but the rest of it is quite sweet. I'm glad I like it, because I picked 41 of them (from one plant) in the past week, averaging 4-5 ounces each.

Last year I had an Orange Russian 117 from someone else's garden that was so sweet and fruity it almost did not taste like a tomato!

Thanks Marko, I'll have to try that Bulgarian Triumph. So far Momotaro is at the top of my list for a medium size sweet tomato -- a prolific cropper too.

At my Tomato Day tasting in 2010 the tomato that consistently got raves for how sweet it was was San Marzano Redorta. Not the regular San Marzano. It's much bigger and more flavorful tho still a roma.

The problem I had was that after tasting people wanted to pick it and there weren't very many plants that year so it was picked clean quite quickly.

I grew the San Marzano Redorta very nice tomato extremely large some weighed a pound full tomato flavor very nice not sweet. I think it would make incredible tomato soups. I used mine for paste sauces.

Kosovo has a nice sweet flavor. It is also very meaty.
The production was pretty good and the plant had thick vines that grew to be huge.

Bradley was soooo good in 2011, I was very impressed. I am not sure why it has not been very popular - it certainly deserves better.

Goose Creek has a great sweet flavor and a nice smooth texture. A standout for me this year.

This year "Pink Sweet" was my sweetest tomato, not far behind was a selection of "Sweet Casady"

I have to agree.

I found out an interesting little bit of history on this one a while back after talking with the man that bred it.
