Default Captain Lucky - Love it

I just had to post again about Captain Lucky - that may have been my favorite tomato this year!

I think I do have the real thing - they start off more green. When really really ripe, more red shows up. So hopefully I do.

I said before, but will say again - they are absolutely delicious. Pretty productive for me too, in a not so good year. And they're still going - I've pretty much neglected the garden lately, most of the plants are pretty sad - Captain Lucky is the greenest, happiest looking one of the bunch.

Definitely on the list for next year!

Tam,since in your post you said that you do think you have the real thing, that might be confusing for folks who are newer here. so I thought it might be helpful to post the following link from the Wanted subforum so that everyone knows where things are at, as posted by winterfly, who is the oringinator of this variety.

And now to go look again at the green fruits that Freda brought in on Wednesday b'c we were supposed to get a hard freeze both Wed and Thurs nights, but I'm up off the valley floor a few hundred feet and didn't get anything lower than 32 F and only for a short time.

So on the table in the back room are fruits that I think would look right in scale with any tea party that Alice in Wonderland might have held.

Oh, that's a good idea Carolyn - thank you for clarifying.

Oh lovely, just what you need - a miniature tea party. I'm really sorry about your bad year - mine wasn't great, but at least I got some.

That sounds like a wonderful tomato to grow! I just might have to be on the lookout for those sometime this winter for next summer's grow.... great to hear the feedback on growth habit/production in a less than optimal season too.
