Second set of Dwarf Releases coming soon!
Watch this space (I will be editing it further over time) - but just to give you a heads up...
Tania will be offering the following NEW DWARF PROJECT RELEASES on her site soon. These will include: Perth Pride - nice tasting medium round purple, Happy family Sleeping Lady - nice tasting, medium sized oblate chocolate, Grumpy family Yukon Quest - nice tasting, medium sized, oblate pink, Grumpy family Iditarod Red - nice tasting, medium small, round red, Grumpy family Many thanks to ContainerTed for working up sufficient seed quantities for the release. And thanks to Tessa (Perth Pride) and our enthusiastic Alaskan dwarf project duo (Sherry_AK and AKGardenGirl - Sherry and Sue) for carrying the heavy load and providing drive, energy and enthusiasm for the creation of Sleeping Lady, Yukon Quest and Iditarod Red. Much more to come - I will let Tania provide an update in this sticky thread when everything is set for the release - please don't request/order until she is ready..... So, 13 new releases. I am awaiting results from Neil Lockhart and Bill Minkey to see if there are additional ones for this year - my suspicion is that the 2012 NH assignments will lead to the next ones, however....stay tuned for news! _________________________________ just some stats on the first 13: green - 4 yellow - 1 ivory - 1 chocolate - 2 purple - 3 pink - 1 red - 1 potato leaf dwarf - 5 regular leaf dwarf - 8 most promising/next in line we hope (next 1-2 years) - Summer Sunrise Dwarf Sweet Sue Dwarf Kelly Green Sweet Adelaide Rosella Crimson Boronia Wherokowhai Dwarf Blazing Beauty Dwarf Sweet Scarlet above would be 2 more yellow, 1 green, 2 pink, 1 purple, 1 yellow/red bicolor, 1 orange, 1 red....5 potato leaf and 4 regular leaf. So in two years - 22 (minimum) total new Dwarf varieties out of the project. There are other named varieties that are going to take a bit more time - either color, size, or flavor not yet optimized or stable (like Sarandipity, Shellby's Purple, Big Green Dwarf, Chocolate Champion, Dwarf Russian Swirl, Banksia Queen) - or still too early -so 2 or more years away (like Brindabella, Dwarf Caitydid, Lucky Swirl, Mahogany, Maralinga, Coorong Red, Coorong Pink, Loxton Lass, Uluru Ochre, Mallee Rose, Barossa Moon, Chocolate Lightning, Dwarf Beauty King, Dwarf Purple Heart, TastyWine, BrandyFred, Fred's Tie Dye) If all goes well, in 3-4 years we will have 45 or more new Dwarf varieties out there from the project...amazing! We have no idea yet at all how we will get these grown out for the initial release, which companies, etc - but that is to be expected, and are details that will be worked out in the coming years.

Dear folks,
I received the precious seeds in yesterday's mail, and I am busy getting them all prepped up for sale in the next 5-6 days. Craig and the dwarf development crew is working on variety descriptions, and once everything is ready, they will be posted for sale immediately and seed catalog will be updated. Please stay tuned! I am so excited to be a vendor introducing these wonderful new dwarf varieties. They are not only pretty, tasty, compact and manageable, but also very suitable for short season gardeners! Thank you Craig and the Team for giving me this opportunity. Ted, you are my hero! Thank you so much for producing the seeds! Tania

Oh my goodness, you guys are killing me lol...I just keep buying seeds and really have absolutely no idea where I will plant all of them. But, that doesn't stop me
Craig, Patrina, and all of you who started this dwarf project, THANK YOU for providing us with some really wonderful new options for those with limited space, and shorter seasons, and those nuts in us who are trying to grow indoors too

I would have offered my foyer for the campers, but I am afraid that their seed collection addiction may make them broke by the time they leave my place

Ok the blow up beds are out of storage,we have room for several campers in the underground parking and the dog beds are being set up in the hallways. There are two community rooms in this compex so I can book them to feed everyone and accomodate overflows.
Salix, yep and you can pick up your other seeds at the same time Then we could go in caravan to Tanias and be there 5 minutes aftetr the news is posted. With me leading of course cos I am the be first in line!! Will that do!! Of course the down side is you might need snow tires ot even chains as it is a very winding climbing road..but tomato seeds are worth taking risks for. Get ready for invasion Tania..maybe we should ask permission for crowd control.. Maybe Container Ted could join us ..he deserves the treat too. XX Jeannine |

No, if you want to really thank some special folks, Sue and Sherry come to mind. They had the skills to recognize the potential of Yukon Quest, Iditarod Red, and Sleeping Lady in their selection growouts. Without their skills at making those selections, those three wonderful new tomaotes might not have been discovered. So, Thanks to Sue and Sherry. And thanks to Craig and Patrinna and Tessa and all the others who have been working on the Dwarf Project for several years now.
