What potting soil to put in RootTrappers
Hi all, and thanks for all of the great info you people provide. This year I'm going to be trying 30 gallon RootTrappers in addition to my in-ground garden so I can try more OP varieties. I'm also thinking of getting some 5 or 7 gallon Smart Pots for dwarves and determinates. Could you please tell me what would be the best brand and variety of commercial potting soil/mix for RootTrappers and whether the same mix would work for Smart Pots??? I contacted the (former) company with that question and never got a response. I urgently need to know as I know it will be costly to fill those big things and don't want to buy the wrong product. I'm not in a position to mix a lot of ingredients from scratch but would be willing to incorporate maybe one adjunct to a commercial mix. I like the ingredients in Fox Farm's Sea Forest, if that gives anyone somewhere to start. Thank you for any advice you can provide.

If you go through the container thread there are many mixes that people use for all kind of containers. There are several mix suggestions for grow bags and smart pots. I just asked the same question..lol

Thank you. I looked plenty before posting my question and never found anything specifically for RootTrappers, but I'll look again.

This is the first time that I have seen "RootTrappers" mentioned on
Tomatoville, so it is possible that no one here has prior experience with them. That is a lot of bags of Fox Farm Sea Forest. You might find a bale of Sunshine #4 or something like that from a nursery, greenhouse and nursery supplies company, or farm supply for less. These are all pretty good potting mixes to look for: http://homeharvest.com/pottingmixes.htm
