Default Gardening Templates

I'm looking for a free gardening templates (excel - openoffice - etc) to catalog my seeds.
something like this:
TYPE OF VEGETABLE / NAME OF VEGETABLE / SEED COMPANY / PRICE PAID

As I search for one I'll post here links to any that look good for gardening.

To start off I found this one that looks pretty good - It's excel but if you have the free openoffice when you click on it it opens it up in openoffice.

Worth1 thanks for linking to that one.
It is for organizing seed trays with what you plant in them very cool.

What I want is to have a list of the seeds I have so when I go out to buy more I just print out the list and take it with me.

If you have Microsoft Word and Excel as I do then both can be used to make such a list.
I do tend to forget that not everybody has this.

Do you have it?

I have both but they are old versions of the software and they get cranky sometimes when I use them with Win 7 64bit.

Then in Word you should be able to make tables or just type in your list and print it out.

You can get as fancy as you want.
You can click on insert then select draw table and customize it about any way you want.

Just a thought.

Found it
Sorting

  1. Select the list or table you want to sort.
  2. On the Table menu, click Sort.
  3. Select the sort options you want. For Help on an option, click the question mark , and then click the option.
I forgot to select all the text - Worth1 thanks for bringing up Word

The excel sheets are almost a necessity.

I would say as your variety of tomatoes and peppers grow that a single Excel sheet with every vegetable may become unmanageable.

What people have found is that you really want all of this on a tomato-specific Excel sheet or tab:
  • Variety Name
  • Color
  • PL or RL
  • Fruit Shape/Type
  • Year Seeds were Saved
  • Last Year Grown
  • Source (TGS, SSE, or someone's name)

Might sound like overkill but you never know when you'll want to refer back to who sent you seeds (in case of a cross), or whether seeds are particularly old.

I do NOT actually have a sheet like this myself as I had not quite reached the point that I needed it, but I was getting very close. When I would get seeds from someone, I did write the year and name of the person who sent them on the back.

I make mine in excel. I've been trying to prove whether this whole hobby save me money or not. Excel is nice because you can re-create it very quickly every year and customize it exactly to what you want.
