which varieties do you plant for your main crops
im just about finished sowing all my tomatoe seeds.. i am growing about 200 plants in newspapr pots i make.. last yr i had 9 or 10 varieties this year over 40.. was hard to decide how many plants of the new varieties to grow as i can fit no more thhan 200 plants// my top staples were sungols cherokee purple black krim stupice rose de berne brandywine pink and kellogs bteakfast.... i am curious whAt everybodys main crops varieties are and how many of each new variety do you usually try... mostly i am looking to save the seeds of the new varieties i like most and to try selling some at my local market

I'm growing about 27 plants. I duplicated spud purple, Cherokee purple, San Marzano, striped roman, Matt's wild cherry and black cherry. Also, 2 lime green salad tomatoes in a big container.
I think maybe I have two JD's Special C-tex, two. I can sauce, make salsa and dehydrate some of the cherries. Plus, salsa, sauce in the summer, pizza and juice. Some soup, as well. So, more cooking and cherries, not as many big tomatoes, but still a lot of variety of large tomatoes to try. |
