Warning about eBay seller of seeds

Folks, I bought several packages of seeds from an ebay seller called

the_garden_goddess22

So far, 2 out of 8 packages are wrong:

Aunt Ginny's Purple grew out RL, not PL
Red Zebra grew out as pear cherries, not plum globes

No response from the seller.

Caveat Emptor.

Scott,

IMO, you would be better off requesting varieties on here; either trade or SASE or buying from the reputable dealers listed on this site and others. Thanks for the heads up.

Scott _ I have some Aunt Ginnys Purple seed purchased last year I think from Knapps. They came up strong and PL but I ended up accidentally giving all of them away

so never got to taste! If you would like some, just PM me with address.

Hey Scott, sorry you got stung by a bad seller. Happened to me last year with some pepper seeds. Fortunately, I got a really great "mystery" pepper out of it!

I've only bought from one Ebay seller and that's Blue Ribbon Tomatoes. The owner of that one is a member here and she does a great job for, quite frankly, an unbelievable price.

You probably already know, but there is a list of places that are recommended sites by members here. Those are all tried and true, so to speak, so we can feel pretty good about buying from them.

I am excited for you about those little pear shaped tomatoes, though. I saw them on your other thread and was intrigued. So maybe you don't ever buy from that seller again, but hope that your mysteries are really really cool?

What a shame. Maybe open an item not as described case on ebay. Oh but maybe it is too late to do that? Well thanks for the warning.

Wow, that is so nice of you, Scott!

I'm going to pass, though, because I already have samples of about fifteen varieties of seeds (all of which I really wanted to try) that I couldn't fit in this year. It was hard enough trying to narrow down the choices as it is. I'm such a waffler!

yikes! Thanks for the heads up on this, I had this seller saved for future purchases. I just went and looked at the feedback for this seller. Their responses says a lot about them. What a bad attitude!

There are some great ebay sellers, it's a shame people this this can give seed sellers on ebay a bad name

I went to a "reputable" source and out of 6 varieties, two are not true
one is a Mr.Hawkins that should be PL. At least 20 plants and not one is a PL. The other should have been Moskovich, an early variety. Well so far all my late varieties have set more fruit and are closer to ripening than these 6 "early" plants.

You've got to know who you're buying from. Impressive web sites and high traffic, do not a good supplier make.

This is not good because I purchased strawberry seeds from this lady before. Now I am worried as they may belong to a different variety
