Onions

I was given some multiplying(multiplier?) green onions today and I wonder how much water they like. Do onions do well in and Earth Box or is it a waste of an EB to grow them in it.

Also, if I have grown onions in a container for a full season, do I need to rotate that container to something else? Like crop rotation?

What kind of multiplier onions trhere are several differnet species. Some top set some put out tubers and some do both ??

Hi Jeannine Anne, this kind just has some short roots and you separate them to plant. I was told to give them at least 6-8 inches apart to allow them room for multiplying, she said it would take about 4-6 months for maturity.

They get quite tall in the greens, at least a couple of feet and the bulb doesn't really make a bulb. That is about all I know about them, she said they belonged to her parents and she has grown them every year with abundance. Heirlooms.
