Default NW Indiana weather :(

It's like mother nature hates me lately. trees down 70mph winds HAIL rain rain rain power outage over 100 degrees heat wave, whats next nuclear fallout?

My tomatoes are standing strong and with the way I supported my 5 gallon bucket garden I can say yes it can withstand near hurricane forces but COME ON enough is enough

I will definitely support my tomatoes this way from now on it's passed the hurricane test with flying colors. Sorry no pictures BUT I will be buying a new camera in a week so pics are on the way. The old camera was buried at sea after taking a pic on the boat and slipping out of my hands and into the water

Did you salute and play "Taps" as it sank into the briny, or not briny, depths?

No taps no salute and no 7 gun volley just a overwhelming sense of dread and sadness as this wasn't the first camera or electrical device I have sent to its doom. My favorite would be the dozen or so flashlights that I have lost over board. The flashlights stay lit on there way down and mockingly shine their light back up to the surface beckoning you to dive in and try to rescue them from 40ft + down.

Whoa, we have these things in Washington state, because we ride ferries and other boats a lot here, called straps! We also have floats, to attach to heavy stuff that might escape our grasp.

Gee, a light just went on in my brain. I guess that some of those folks that jump off the ferries and hold up traffic for several hours are inlanders that succumbed to the call of the flashlight or camera. Here I always thought they were trying to commit suicide. Hmmmmmm.

We actually had a guy leave a suicide note in his car on the ferry recently, and he dove into the water near landfall, and swim ashore. Since this involves the State Police, the Coast Guard, and the FBI, he was arrested.
WTH?

Sorry you lost your camera. I'd definitely consider jumping in after mine.
Flashlights, on the other hand, I'd never lose sleep over.

Why did you have a flashlight?

In South Central Indiana (Cloverdale/Poland) we've had no rain for five weeks now, combined with temperatures in the 90/100 range. If you listen carefully, you can hear the Tomatoes cough.

We have had 100+ weather for 8 days now and its going to be that way for another 8. I've watered my plants and a they are doing fine. My black cherry ,sungold and purple haze are still putting on fruit. I'm suprised that i have had a few of my bigger plants put on a few new tomatoes during this heat wave. My nar, carbon, brandywine red, cherokee green, eva purple ball and black crims have set a few full of fruit per plant.

Lawdy, lawdy, I'd be happy to trade you some of my rain for some of your heat! Our nighttime temps just finally hit above 50º this week. Daytime is still in the 60's. My tallest tomato is 15 inches tall.

Send your maters here for a vacation, if you like!!!
