Is this going to be a problem
I took a few pictures today of one of my plants that is exhibiting black discoloration around the edges of some of the leaves. I am not sure if this is just a product of the really wet and cold June we have had or if it is a disease. Do you have any ideas and recommendations?

Leaf margin necrosis is almost always caused by salt buildup in containers. The best way to fix this is to flush the soil thoroughly with water, then add nutrients back in with a mild fertilizer.

I need to chime in and say thanks to Gtnate for posting and Dar for answering!
I have a much worse case of this on 2 plants in the same container, and for my plants anyway, serious issue. Pair of Polish Linguista's. I had thought it was fertilizer burn. All of my plants are doing great, except for this pair. Chalked it up to varietal issue, etc. I find it odd in my case either way, as all my seedlings including these were fantastic, and all of my plants got the exact same container mix at plant out. Have been debating and watching over the last month to just give them the yank. (to prevent it from spreading if fungal) I have also trimmed them to the point of very little foliage. (They look like green skeletons) Any thoughts on using one of the below or is plain ole' water the best? 1. Clearex or 2. ( I found this suggestion)- A soil drench of the root zone with 1-2 Tablespoons of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide diluted in a gallon of fresh water can be used to try to circumvent the continuation of new leaf necrosis. |

Thanks a lot, Dar. I flushed out the container this morning.
