What kind of bug laid these eggs?
Either I have the proverbial "money tree" tomato plants that are growing golden eggs, or a bug is visiting and depositing these eggs.
What should I treat for? Just use Jerry Baker's soapy water and oil mix to smother them? Advise, please! |

Put them in a jar with lid and holes
The only way to be sure is to take some fresh tomato leaves kinda cover put some dirt in a jar and see what happens.Reason for saying is some ladybugs can be that color.

Looks like squash bug eggs to me. They will hatch 7-10 days after being laid.
Are you growing squash nearby? If you water near the base of the squash plants, they will come crawling up the stems if you have them. Spray the adults with a strong soapy solution to stop up their breathing holes and it will suffocate them. I am trying several things to deal with the eggs....have been gluing them to the leaves and I think it is working. You can use duct tape to lift them off the leaves. I am finding them on plants other than squash too.......but always nearby the curcubits. Best of luck......may the force be with you! Last edited by O.P. Mater; July 8, 2012 at 10:32 AM.
