Fast germination?
Started 200+ toms on Sunday and two varieties out of twenty-two, Illinois Beauty and Omar's Lebanese were up on Wednesday. Only four days. Do they usually go that fast? I don't have a heat mat so they're on a card table in front of the wood stove. I have a thermometer sitting among the trays and the temp has been 70 to 75 most of the time.

The shortest I had last year was 3 days on 2 varieties. I suspect that I planted them in the morning and I recorded that the had peeked through in the evening. It's more likely 3 1/2 days. One factor that determine a day one way or the other is how deep you plant them. Shallow planting leads to seeing them sooner.
