Your absolutely right! With so many wonderful things to grow how can a gardener turn down the opportunity when he/she has it.A great thing indeed.

I want to know how you managed to just order four!
Homestead is an awesome plant, by the way. Mine has droopy, dark green branches, and doesn't seem fazed by anything. Tl |

Welcome to Texas. You'll find it's a bit different than Michigan.

Dont think you can pull a rabbit out of your hat here and do something we have already tried many times and failed at.

Ever seen badgers mean enough to want to attack moving cars and trucks on US 6 when it wants to cross the road?

Kevin,
I'm glad to see you posting from Texas. I've often thought about you and your difficulties getting here. You need to get one of those bumper stickers which say "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could". I don't know if anyone has told you it's okay to pet our rattlesnakes, but don't mess with a Texas badger. They get a little testy. I'm also glad to see you planning a tomato garden, but are you aware we will probably see some 100 degree weather late this month or early next month. Folks in Michigan may just now be planting their gardens, but it is a little late to plant a spring garden in Texas. You can grow a really nice fall garden here by planting in July. Well Ted the one thing on my side is afternoon shade. My seeds will be planted for a fall garden. As far as my spring plants go chalk it up to the originals disappearing and just getting replacements. Not getting here in time to start seeds for spring did not help ether but thems the breaks.I will plant what I can hope for the best and should still get a few things.Btw the badgers up in Ohio are pretty mean too.Edgerton OH PD had to watch for the darn things cuz they where coming in to town and freaking folks out.I don't know why I thought they where pretty funny threatening passing cars and big rigs.
