Stump of the World, again...
Last year I bought seeds of Stump of the World from Remy's Sample Seed Shop. I grew out one last season, but don't remember if it was PL or RL. This year, from the same packet, I'm growing out three plants, two of which are PL and one RL. Is it possible, or likely, that the RL is the "old" SotW aka "Big Ben" or something else? I'm posting this as a result of having just looked at a thread from a few years ago in which Ben Quisenberry's grandson talked about both kinds.

If you look below you'll see a thread called Brandywines and in the last post there I linked to the same one you just linked to. http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=27957 And some good info in the above one as well. Carolyn

Thanks, Carolyn. I've checked those out, but not really found an answer to my question concerning the appearance of a regular leaf plant and the possibility of its being Big Ben of yore. In any case I'm growing them all out this year and will see what I get!

I grew stump of the world from seeds bought from Remy's sample seed shop last year. I got both RL and PL. The RL plants produced big red tomatoes; the PL produced pink tomatoes.

That's interesting, Martha. Are you growing them again this year? If so, maybe we could compare notes.

Gary,
I grew Stump last year and am growing it again this year. Also seed from Remy. No RL plants in my batch though. Always the chance for a stray seed of course. Will be curious to see what you get with the RL plant. |

I grew SOW from Remy last year; potato leaf. Same this year. I only start 2 plants of each, though, each year.
