Default Pamplemousse du Grand Père, anyone?

Tomodori describes this as a beautiful pineapple-type variety, orange-multicolored, meaty, perfumey taste, a cross between Pineapple and Rose de Berne.

I always wanted to try it and last year a T'villian from Europe sent me seeds that he said originated in Belgium. But the grow-outs produced medium sized round red, fairly ordinary fruit; clearly the wrong seed.

Anyone have experience with this tomato or know where I could get some new seed to try?

TIA,
Gary

yes I have the real Pamplemous du grand père, my seeds with protection of flowers, original from Sébastien Berthier, the grandson of this grandfather who created the variety.

The description says PL but now usually it is RL and Sébastien told me that he lost the PL.

Aubergine, thank you very much for the reply. What do you think of the variety? Any chance of trading seeds sometime in the future? (BTW, I got the spelling from Tomodori. Is that not correct?) Again, thanks.

Gary,

what I think of the variety - from the bicolors I prefere Armenian but you know, the taste depends from where you live ...
We can trade seeds immediatly of you wish, no problem
The spelling - you can find the story also at Tomodori, Sébastien shared it when his grandfather died.
When he was a little boy and was helping his grandfather in his garden, he wrote this mistake and grandfather smiled and decided to keep the wrong spelling ...

For more questions, you are welcome
