Flower buds on seedlings under grow light
My pepper seedlings are still under the grow light. I have two varieties, Tolli's Sweet, and Chervena Chuska. I am about to start the hardening off process to prepare them for the garden in 5 or 6 days from now. I know it is suggested on Tomato seedlings to remove any flowers or set fruit before planting. On a few of my pepper seedlings, buds are forming at the top of the plant. My question is should I remove them before putting them in the ground like I would on Tomato's, or NOT ? It is 8 wks. today since I started the seeds.

I do remove any flowers on my peppers before they're put in the ground (or pots). This year I kept a few peppers with their flowers to compare size of the plants and yields.

Generally I pinch, but my hard and fast rule is that I have no hard and fast rules. You have two varieties, but you didn't specify how many plants of each. If enough plants to experiment you might want to pinch on one (or more) and not pinch on one (or more) of the same variety and do a comparison experiment and see what works best for you. You probably know what the trade off is so I elaborate.
Good luck. Randy |

OK, since I have 10 of each variety, I guesss I'll experiment, and try it both ways and see if I can tell any difference.
