My GF said I'm an 8.5 on a weirdness scale....
Because of my love for tomatoes!! LOL
She said I'm closing in on a 9 because I take pics and talk to them!! Loves the fact I'm on here, save seed, baby them, pot up, and so on... She mentioned that she would bump me up to a 10 if she were to catch me out there sleeping with them!! Bless her heart she loves what I do! She's a green girl and loves the garden and the ability to just run out and get fresh food. Where do you think you stand?? I know of a few who are a 9 here...at least!! LOL Greg |

My husband would probably say 11, but I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with me.
I just yelled into the other room and said, "Dear, on a tomato weirdness scale of 1-10, how would you rate me?" He yelled back, "Eleven." Remy

I'm so weird on so many levels. But in a good quirky Phoebe from "Friends" way and I love it. Wouldn't have it any other way!

My hairdresser told me I'm a vegetable geek. I told her I was honored she would give me such a title.

I am constantly being told that I'm tomato-obsessed. A full on tomato FREAK, if you will. That's while my husband and son are standing there with tomato juice running down their chins!

Looks like I'm a 10....
Of course, I've also been accused of taking more photos of my tomatoes than the kids..... Hmmmm.

Greg,
Only 8.5? That's an insult! Pretty sure joining here makes you an automatic 11. In fact I believe our scale starts at 11. Remy, That makes you along with quite a few others here, somewhere around a 22. On a scale of 1 to 10 of course. Vegetable geek, tomato freak, phoebe from friends (J, I can totally picture that) - high praise and compliments all! Robin- just threaten your boys with store bought toms. They will fall into line..... |

funny
Funny...it appears we are all slightly insane. It is an honorable hobby, and it is certainly better than many destructive behaviors that people find to do. Honestly, I find myself becoming more compulsive/excessive the older I get. Maybe because it is I have more time to be weird since I am retired. hehe

I can't think of a better "weirdness". I will take this passion to grow tomatoes over anything that involves sitting on my butt watching TV.

HMMMM I get those looks myself. In fact I was once forbidden to discuss anything gardening when company came by. It didn't work!
Funny thing though. Last most recent visit by that same company had her asking please, you got any of those little orange ones (sungold F1) I can take with me? and Oooh that one is pretty! (experimental hybrid I am growing out for Chris) and Is that a tomato? Let me try that one! (shadow boxing) And my customers? They are so excited I literally can't keep the stand open. Keep selling out. Especially Sungold F1 and The Miracle BPF.

I take pride in the fact that people call me "the crazy tomato lady". They are really grateful that I am when it comes to baskets of free, yummy heirloom tomatoes on their front steps or jars of freshly made salsa from those tomatoes.

I don't find myself anythig like you guys.
I don't jump on the latest tomato fad. And yes I do find many of the people here weird. I went to a tomato gathering once and saw many of these tomato freaks. Going home I found myself wondering how on earth did I even end up there. I didn't fit in and never even tasted a tomato. To some extent I don't even know why I am even a member of this forum. A really strange bunch you all are indeed. Worth |
