new family in town....
Found on my Cherry leaves. After a Google search it looks like they are newborn Boxelder bugs.

We had those Boxelder beetle things at our old house by the millions the last few years we were there. I never found them in my veggies but they were on everything--the bricks, patio furniture, bushes, trees, swing set, you name it. My husband would spray them and they'd all die off for a few weeks and then they'd be back again. We only moved five minutes away but thankfully I don't see them here.
Since I never had them on food I was growing, I could use stronger sprays. You're going to have to use something specifically for veggies. Good luck! I hope you can get rid of them.

They do resemble the second picture on that site. That may explain why yours are on veggies and mine were not. Are they still there? What do they look like now?

They don't look like the Boxelder bugs that I have seen. (There were huge masses of them on the side of my parents house a few years in a row.) Those are more narrow and a pretty striking red color.
I hate to say that they look a lot like some kind of baby shield bug (stink bug) to me, too. I would have to see a closer image, though. |
