Nice! Going to be interesting for you growing in Texas instead of Michigan.

Sure is. Got some Al-Kuffa seedlings I am sure will work out here but as to the rest only time will tell. I do have partial shade though so may nurse some through the hot weather.

Good ol' West L.A. . I remember getting tomatoes around March. Then we moved to Atascadero and there we could not plant out until about mid May. I really miss our lemon tree too.

Al-Kuffa grew well for me in El Paso-have to try it in San Antonio! Thanks for reminding me about that variety.

Hey, KLorentz! Nice seedlings!

We moved here to the Reno Area from Santa Margarita and my husband worked in Atascadero! Yeah, it's not a perfect climate for growing year-round. Moving from there to here was another zone-shock! In a normal year, it's mid-June if we're lucky unless you use Wall O'Waters, which I do... but what's normal? I've forgotten.

Hey there Robin,

Well ain't it a small world! I miss my old stomping grounds in North SLO Co. Spring was my favorite time of year there. The fields full of poppies and lupines and the horse and cattle ranches with the new calves and colts. And our garden. Had some good times there. And our road trips to San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. Texas may be a whole new game for me but at least I will have a chance to grow some of the things that I grew in Cali.

Good to hear they did so well for you. Al-Kuffa has pretty hardy plants which is why I have been so sure they will do well here. They where the very last to call it quits in Michigan and even survived some light frost. Loads of great tasting salad type maters. The flavor was outstanding.

Got 23 more varieties of tomatoes planted along with an additional planting of Al-Kuffa. Hopefully all will go well. The seedlings in the pic are not far away from being re-potted. They took a growth spurt since the pic was taken. Also my Al-Kuffa seedlings on the porch are looking good too. When my cam battery gets all charged up I will get some new pics also have some nice pepper and marigold seedlings too.
