Default Orange Beetle

Howdy!
So I live in North Texas (Dallas area) and have begun to see some orange beetle on my tomato and bell pepper plants.

I have used Sevin dust dust a few times this year but don't think it is working.
Any ideas?

I am very new to this and don't want to drown my plants in poison..but want to keep them healthy. Starting to see holes in the leaves and some of them are getting white/flaky around the edges.

Thanks!

Ok so I tried pugging it into google image search. and along with one or two insects that weren't yours. I got a whole slew of porn and VD pictures which I don't need to be looking at while amongst company.

I looked in two different books and all I can come up with is a June Bug or something called the Lily Leaf Beetle. Good luck!

It does look like the lily beetle, but that is a really vibrant orange/red. The lavae are disgusting slimy things that live in their own excrement. They attack Oriental and Asiatic lilies with a vengeance.

So I can't seem to find any more information on that beetle and some other pictures online have a large black stripe down the middle.

Its the only observes insect on the plants so it must be chewing the leafs up..any idea or suggestions on how to proceed?

My books say insecticidal soap or pyrethrins for beetles.

And also that the larvae do a lot more damage than the adults to turn leaves over and look for egg masses. If you see them, crush!
