Golden version of a green zebra
So every year i grow green zebra and am pretty familiar with the variety. This year i sowed some seeds i bought a couple years ago and all 4 of my plants produced this super golden/yellow version. Has anyone else seen this color out of a green zebra plant. Like i said i have been growing this variety for years without these results. Maybe Tom Wagner or any of you have some insight for me.

My experience is small but I I have had green zebra tomatoes that dark golden colour but only if they were well past their prime and very overripe. Same with malachite box, if you leave them long enough they turn that colour but are inedible to me at that level of ripeness.

These ones were picked almost ripe not over ripe. That's why i was a little puzzled. Usually they are more green than gold but these particular plants put off gold with a touch of green. In the pic with two tomatoes the one on the right is off of a green zebra from a different seed company. The taste was also sweeter on the gold one than the usual citrus tang of the green zebra.

Yep, that is what my Orange and Green Zebra looked like. I prefer the regular Green Zebra for tangier taste. Both plants kept going well past anything else I left standing until just before the freeze last week. Highly productive too.
