I have a 12' raised bed with four Litchi tomatoes growing in them planted 2.5' apart. They are growing well, with prickles on them (Thorns) and the leaves don't look like any tomato plant I've ever seen. Tomatoville members tell me they are more like a berry than a tomato.
What I haven't read is how to build a support for them. I am limited on money, so buying supports is not possible. However, I have all kinds of lumber, T-posts, wire, string, etc. I'm wondering if Litchi grows more like a tomato or more like a berry/ivy? |

Mine was in a large metal tomato cage, but I'm sure stakes and string would do the trick

That is very interesting. I looked it up in the net.
Litchi looks more like Horse Nettle, except for the husk which makes it look lik tomatillo. Gardeneer |
