A question about trusses and fruit size

I was removing some fruits off of trusses that had too many. I noticed that some trusses branched off into another truss. Should I count that as two trusses for culling purposes, or one truss? I am culling to keep fruit sizes larger, so I figure two or three on large fruit, four on medium.

Are Mule Team, Indian Stripe, Earl of Edgecomb, Grosse Cotelee, and Bear Creek considered large or medium sized varieties? Forgot to include Tarasenko 6 as well.

I consider Indian Stripe and Arkansas Traveler to be medium size and Tarasenko-6 to be large. When culling Tarasenko-6 try to cull the odd looking fruit as it seems to produce a fair number of misshapen tomatoes sometimes. I am just now seeing a few fruits forming on mine and it looks like the high winds took a lot of the blooms with it last weekend so another delay for my tomatoes waiting for more blooms to form and set fruit.

Bill sorry to hear your dilemma. I started culling some of the greenies. Seems almost sac religious to pluck and throw away a developing fruit.

If it bothers you then don't do it. I do it on many varieties that I like larger fruit from. Some I don't cull at all and some I cull a lot depending on how many they set. Pruden's Purple and Delicious usually set far too many fruit to have any with decent size so I cull them heavily. Some of the black tomatoes do that also. Some varieties never set too many and frequently set too few so it all works out in the end. I only cull because I grow a lot of plants and just don't want to fool with so many small tomatoes. I even quit growing cherries about 5 years ago because I hated having to pick so many when just one good sized tomato would do.
