Both PL and RL....same variety...likely cause?
I'm growing a heart-shaped variety that is supposed to be RL. I purchased the seeds from a seed company. I ended up with one RL and I think 5 or 6 PL plants. could this be a cross between this RL heart-shaped variety, and a PL variety? If a stable RL variety, and a stable PL variety crossed, would the F-1 result be PL? I consider myself quite careful when sowing my tomato seeds, so I'm sort of ruling out grower error, although I wouldn't bet the farm on it(if I had a farm).
I plan to grow the RL plant, and am now wondering if I should grow a PL plant or two, to see what I get? Doug |

Marsha, is it possible that Doug will get PL heart-shaped?

Hey Doug, heart PL are rare. Please, please, ... grow as many as you can.

Thanks for the info. Ginger. For what it's worth, I had my numbers a little wrong. 3 plants are PL and one RL.
efisakov...I potted up one of the PL plants, and may plant it in isolation, to see what I end up with. I'm cutting back a little on garden size, so I don't want to take on too many experiments. If I do grow it out, and a PL heart develops, I'll keep you in mind for seeds. |

Both Douglas and myself received the same seed from the same company. It is Couer de Bouef de Jerusalem. I too have Pl hearts growing. Did i mention i have a very small fuit set and plenty of flowers to boot. Now im patiently waiting.

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...f+de+jerusalem So where did you and Doug get seeds from and I ask b'c Tomordori and Ventmarin don't sell seeds, those two I know well, but I don't know the other sources, but you two would. Just curious. Carolyn
