Default What are these bugs????

I check on my greenhouse today and discovered an army of little small flys everywhere. I sprayed them with dormant oil in order to kill them which seemed to have worked but I have no idea where they came from or even if they were a threat

Look like an ant or termite swarm.

They're not the lacewings we have around here, ours are green.

Yeah, they do look like termites. My grandparents had some firewood in the basement hatch out a swarm once. They were coming up through the carpet while grandma was frantically vacuuming them up.

I too say subterrainean termites. I hate those things. They pretty much killed my 30 year old apricot tree and peach tree.
