I grew it last year and am growing it again this year. It has to be the largest tomato I have ever grown, fairly early here in Anchorage, and has a mild flavor. The production was moderate.

Just noting that there are two versions of this variety available.

I just looked at Tania's site and I had the large pink slicer. First time I have grown a "real" slicer!

I grew it in 2014 and I'm growing it again this year.
Mine were fairly productive and also the large variety. Most of the early tomatoes are small, but Katja produced large, early tomatoes. One of mine was so large that it was used for two tomato sandwiches and the rest of the tomato I chunked up to eat with salt and pepper. I called it my all day tomato. Our summers are pretty hot and dry most years, but Katja continued to set a few tomatoes through the heat too. The flavor is good but not as great as the Cherokee Purples and other later tomatoes, but excellent for an early, large tomato. |
