When I was out this morning supporting trusses with J-hooks and foam wire I ended up pulling about a dozen tomatoes off that had the same thing Darren. I don't know what it is but will be using my bleach spray this afternoon if weather permits and using copper or Daconil tomorrow. I also saw a couple of plants with aphids and whiteflies along with a few tomatoes ruined by worms. I guess the good times are over.

Better pics, yes. That actually doesn't really look bacterial.
What's going on with the foliage? Corresponding issues? |

Did you place any kind of cage supports or strings on AFTER the plant was established and fruit had set? It looks to like it has been rubbing on a cage or string to me, maybe even a small bird.
I have been behind in my florida weave and almost everything had fruit set before I had my strings ups. After my strings were up, I noticed a bunch of fruit, branches, and foilage that was rubbed by the twine had very similar markings. Ive seen it with metal cages as well. The rest of the plant and all fruit that wasnt rubbed by the string looks normal. Ive got young chickens that wander to the tomato bed from time to time and they will leave similar marks as well if they are left to mess with the green tomatoes. Just a bruising of sorts from actual physical damage is what it looks like to me. Whatever it is, good luck! |

Now that I can see a better picture and I could be wrong, but I think it may be Fruit Pox and Gold Flex.
Here is a link about it. http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/hs200 and another http://www.apsnet.org/publications/p...63n10_1285.pdf I don't think there is a whole lot of info out there about it as I don't think it is seen very often, not like blights and such. |
