Kurt,
That is awesome. We have a Fresh Market in Orlando and I'm going to look for some and give them a try if they have them. It also looks like there are some interesting recipes on the Village Farms website like the one below... :-) http://villagefarms.com/recipes/toma...schetta-recipe Thanks for posting this! I keep looking for good tasting tomatoes everywhere we go and we haven't really found any so far. Ginny |

Out of about 30 varieties that I am growing , 7 of them are grown from the seeds taken from store bought tomatoes. 3 of them are for the second season and 4 more for the first time this year. Five of them come from OP/heirloom tomatoes the other 2 are not. These 2 are KUMATO and a Mini Roma/Juliet looking.

Wow, Gardeneer, that sounds like good results.
I am growing one plant from store-bought tomato, it's a yellow one and supposedly tasty (some folks already have grown it and claimed it was good). Kumato was the only one last year I wasn't able to make to survive, but given so many other, black and OP varieties, that did not really bother me - there already are a dozen or so well known delicious black ones to choose from, and many other less know ones to experiment with.. |

I have plants from three store bought tomatoes this year, two cherries (Zima-yellow and Cherub-red) and one large saladette (Red Zoo - red striped). The cherries were a winter delight, Red Zoo (the source, not the variety name) was firm and moderately tasty. I'll harvest seed from the best F2 plants and make a few crosses.
