straw bales garden

Here is my first-time straw bale garden. eggplant and two peppers on end then Big Rainbow and Hillbilly. Hoping this speeds up the growing season and allows for better drainage and hence less chance of late blight. I have one tomato set on a Solar Flare and many blossoms that seem earlier than last year, but heavy rains in WNY are killing me. We need some dry days. the photo was taken June 13.
