Chocolate stripe question
All 4 of my chocolate stripes tomatoes ended up potato leaf. There is not a PL version is there? They are very healthy, very uniform and to be honest it was more of an impulse purchase. I have extra seed so i will reseed them again, just to make sure I didn't mix up the labels. The vendor is highly respected so its not an ebay special. If my second planting ends up Pl again, i will contact the seller directly and let them know. It could be a blessing in disguise as I have too many black tomatoes in my mix anyways.
Just wanted to ask if there is a PL version, before i reseed. Thanks, Mark |

Chocolate Stripes is one of my "must grow" every FL season. I have never seen them to be PL...only regular leaf. Your seeds must be another variety. Maybe you should grow one out and see what you have. Best of luck to you. I have RL Chocolate Stripe seeds if you need some.

I logged on to see if this was a problem for anyone else. My Chocolate Stripes all came up with the incorrect leaf (potato leaf). I knew it couldn't have been something I did, as every one (all five) came up PL.

I got that a couple of years ago. It turned out to be a delicious tomato that is a light brown color and has some pale striping but they are stable and they are really really productive. I gave out seeds for the Not Chocolate Stripe and they seem to have gone over pretty well. The real chocolate stripe should have regular leaves, but this PL seems to be a variety that's going around. If it's the same one I got I bet you're going to like it anyway.

Does someone have a few of the PL seeds they could send my way? I'd love to try them.

I'm growing it this year. I'll have to check what leaf type my seedlings have.

I am growing one NCS plant from seeds provided by Marsha (thanks!). It's a beautiful plant, still waiting on the first fruit to set. I'll keep this thread updated with pics throughout the summer
