Default Bean, pea, legume (& tomato) swap

I'm posting this so that there will be a thread for discussion.

Also, my email address for those in read only mode...

dwcmuseum (at) yahoo.com

My email is currently frozen where I can see messages sent, but I'm not able to open them. By the time someone emails me, maybe it'll be working.

I'll try to post a list of what has come in so far, on Monday.

Participants can choose from that list, or post varieties from your wish lists, if you have one. Wish list beans are much more difficult (near impossible) to receive, than tomatoes.

Nice idea Tormato, thanks for starting it. Never did a swap/trade other than for tomatoes, i guess there may be some differences in the guidelines and quantities of seeds.

My garden is now frozen solid, all plots. Warm December was nice for as long as it lasted.

I'm on board again. You ran a great bean swap last year and I had a very good season this year.

Any deadlines?

I seem to recall - don't send you packs that are all taped together...

I sent in Cannellini beans.

Mmmmm, love beans and peas.

Aerial, are the Hutterite beans as good and creamy as claimed by the catalogs?

Anyone here growing out the sweeter wrinkled seeded peas? Or know of the names of varieties for the wrinkled peas?

Here's a list of what I already sent in for the legume swap (all are fresh seed grown out this year):

"21 Pea", V. unguiculata, Pole , 2015
Appaloosa, P. vulgaris, Bush, 2015
Blue Coco, P. vulgaris, Pole, 2015
Blue Shackamaxon, P. vulgaris, Pole, 2015
Brown Tepary, P. acutifolius, Pole, 2015
Fast Lady Northern Southern Pea, V. unguiculata, Bush, 2015 (may have been crossed at some point, shows two seed phenotypes)
Gold of Bacau, P. vulgaris, Pole, Wax, 2015
Improved Golden Wax, P. vulgaris, Bush, 2015
Kentucky Wonder, P. vulgaris, Pole, 2015
Magpie, P. vulgaris, Bush, 2015
Painted Pony, P. vulgaris, Bush, 2015
Pencil Pod Wax, P. vulgaris, Bush, 2015
Pigott Family Heirloom, V. unguiculata, Bush
Trionfo Violetto, P. vulgaris, Pole, 2015

I'm interested in trying soybeans, lima beans, unusual runner beans and unusually colored/patterned beans.

A strong tomato stake, heavy pruning of tomato plant, and half-runner beans solve that problem...I think.
