The 2015 Spitters List

In the past I've seen the year's "Spitter" list here at T'ville, which seemed to be becoming a year's end tradition. I haven't searched back through all the posts for the past month, but if there hasn't been a 2015 "Spitter" list maybe some of you would like to share what you won't be growing again, due to taste.

I remember one from a previous "Spitter" list was called "Nebraska Wedding." What an ultra-cool name but no one seemed to like the taste. I stick to the basics and I don't remember growing any "Spitters" the past few years, but I'm sure there are some 2015 "Spitters" everyone would like to hear about.

Hmmm, the only spitters I had... were probably just because of the growing conditions.
Khurma was quite tasteless (although prolific), and Bi-Color cherry had no flavor either.. In short, a total let-down, but I am glad I had the chance to satisfy my curiosity

No spitters for 2015 for me, but I grew Yellow Pear (in the guise of Snow White). What a boring, tasteless tomato it is. My dog even looked disappointed when I tossed her one. Of course they were prolific and did not split, however long I left them on the vine

Yes,in thepast there have been spitter lists here and also elsewhere, but they became somewhat contenious and argumentattive for one simple reason.

And that's that one persons spitter is another's.....I have to grow it every year since I love it so much....kind of discussion.

And that b'c so much depends on where, geographically, a person grows a variety, what the weather was in a specific summer season ,how they grow their tomatoes as to staking,sprawling, caging, containers, etc.,and then what amendments they use, as to which ones and how much and when.

Now speaking just for me, I don't see spitter threads being a help at all based on all the variables I just mentioned.

For me it was Helsing ★★★★★★★★ Blues and Blue Berries. HJB's didnt taste as bad as BB's but they split worse than anything I ever saw which made me mad enough to spit. So far not a fan of the blues. Giving Blue Beauty and Indigo Cherry Drops a try this year.

I have grown lots of tomatoes I don't like and won't grow again, many seem to be popular with others and I am still glad I grew them otherwise I would not know. Nothing ever went to waste, tomatoes I am not fond of fresh make good salsa or chutney.

Everybody has different tastes and growing conditions plus I would not want to insult someone who might be a member here who has spent time and effort and money on a breeding project.
I don't think anybody cares what I think anyway but in case they do I prefer to be positive about the ones I like and shush about the others.

Like Carolyn has previously sad, there are just too many variables that affect the taste. However, I like to see what others consider a spitter.

For me there are no spittres. The worst tasting tomato I've ever eaten was wonderful!

BVV- you gotta try Sgt.Peppers. It will change your mind about antho tomatoes.

Another new one on me...Im already at 8 cherry varieties this year so I may have to wait till next. Then again I could probably fit 1 in somewhere

Travis is right, it's a medium heart. I was responding to your mention that you didn't care for the blues, I didn't think about whether it was a cherry or not.

Mine didn't have any antho, and if it doesn't have antho, it just isnt Sgt. Peppers. If yours have antho, please save me a few seeds.

I just assumed, I found pics and it is very pretty, plus I like hearts anyway. Does anyone know where I can get seed?
