Forecast hi 75 low 55

Weather is perfect inside my "high dollar" tunnel.
Holding 75 during the day and 55 at night.

10 x 5 frame was $26
7 pcs of 1/2" pvc conduit 10' long
12 pcs precut 1' rebar for ground stakes at mega home store.

agfabric 14 x 50 $40 amazon
splurged on a fancy digital controller and heater $60 amazon

Took close to 15 minutes to put it together.
i'm a big fella and can get cozy in there with the plants.

Pay no attention to the leggy wind burned plants........ they went out before the tunnel was created. Backwards around here as usual.

Neat. What is the agfabric like? Does it let air flow through?

Its an agribon ripoff, spun bond polyester.

I chose it over plastic film because
it breathes
it insulates so nightime lows are not so low, they claim 6f of frost protection
because it breathes and only passes 70% light, daytime highs are not so high as plastic sheet.
its pretty easy to work with not so slippery as film

seems good so far!

awesome! but it looks like you have two layers on? a whiteish layer and a shade cloth? Is agribon like remay? I'm looking on amazon - and it looks like they make both, shade cloth and remay-type...

There is a shadecloth of unknown origin over the agfabric.
I am not familiar with remay.

A full week of cold with no sun has done some damage in the tomato patch, even with heater set at 50f. Paleness, lost leaves and a few deaths.
Was away and unable to monitor closely.
I am pretty sure they are stressed by low soil temp. The grodan cubes are only 50f which according to web sources will not allow growth in tomato.
Seedbed heaters going in today....hopefully not too late, apparently cold can set them back permanently.
