Tomatoes and Squash
I have done well with my container tomatoes. Now, I am going to try growing zucchini and acorn (winter) squash in containers (15 gal nursery pots). Is it possible to do the squash in containers...and let them sprawl on the ground??? thanks

I've started some compact hybrids in 10gal poly grow bags, not vining types though.
Yellow- Buckingham and Multipik, Green- Spacemiser Also going to try a full size green zuch hybrid, Elite in a 10gal. I'll let you know how they do and hope for some input from others. |

Yes, we have done well with our containers too.
We are growing a bunch of butternut squash in one container. We have a crookneck in one pot. We have a romanesco zucchini in another. Last year we got a butternut fruit a little bit bigger than my fist. So there is no chance of bugs or rot getting the fruit, you could grow the vines on some sort of grate.... and off the ground... |
