dwarf recs
I've recently gotten involved with the local "master gardeners" group, which does a tomato/veg sale every year. I'd love to get a bunch of dwarf varieties included in the sale, but I'm just starting to grow a larger variety of them myself in containers this year. We have a summer-dry climate, on the cooler side (not this week -- it's in the high 80s most days), and a fairly long season (night temps above 50 from about mid-May to mid-Oct, though I've planted as early as March with lots of protection and usually don't pull plants until the first frost, usually late Nov).
I'm assuming the people who buy plants at this sale are growing 2-5 plants, so production and disease resistance are more important than a variety of colors/shapes etc. So, experienced dwarf growers, what would you choose? |
