Default my first heirloom fruit!

sorry for the excitement, as I am sure you long-time gardeners are thinking "so what"

This pic is a Pink Brandywine I grew from Burpee seed - my first tomato from seed. Oddly, this is from a plant that I started a week later than the largest Pink Brandywine I have growing - which has lots of blooms, but no fruit as of yet.

I checked my other Pink Brandywine plants and my Mortgage Lifter plants, which have all bloomed - no others have set fruit yet. I am surprised this one did as it has been so ridiculously hot and humid in the past couple of weeks. I have heard that the Pink Brandywine is a bit difficult and has generally low production, so I am surprised I have any fruit on that plant.

Wow! That's exciting. I'm waiting for a couple of plants to set fruit again - hopefully they will later next week when it is a little cooler. I've been growing tomatoes for a couple of years now and always get excited when fruit sets! Even someone else's fruit!

As long as we have excitement tomato growing will stay alive. I enjoy seeing another addiction beginning. Keep us informed.

Very cool! My first heirloom was Brandywine as well. It was also the first tomato that I started from a seed.

Keep up the enthusiasm and never let it go away. I still get excited every year...
