Wrong Label from Lowes
I bought this Bonnie plant at lowes a couple of months ago to replace a jalapeno plant I lost. It was labeled jalapeno, but it ain't. Does anybody know what it is?

Hey, I bought a BP Habanero once and got a Fatalii, which they don't even sell. Go figure.
It's a C.annuum, but beyond that I wouldn't hazard a guess.

Looks like a Cayenne, based on shape.

After checking the Bonnie website it looks like this could be a Cowhorn or Garden Salsa plant. The Cowhorn is a Cayenne and the Garden Salsa is a hybrid.
Thanks for the tip. |

Huge
Wow; that's much larger and longer than the impression I got from the earlier photo.
Looking forward to the taste test. |

I was going to say Garden Salsa, as I have about six plants that I started from seed that are just starting to produce. Here is a picture...can't comment on taste yet.

It's not a Cowhorn. Doesn't have the characteristic twist. Also too big and fat for the common Cayenne.

Is it a hot pepper? I grew Garden salsa this year and this is what they look like and mine are very hot.

Garden Salsa pepper is supposed to have 1000 to 5000 scoville units according to Bonnie's site.

Bonnie Plants stocked some Jimmy Nardello peppers in the stores around here. But, I don't think the one you show is "wrinkled" enough.
I'd say you need to check it for heat. That would also whittle down the list. In the end, if it tastes good, then you win. I don't buy Bonnie plants. Too many people walk around moving and removing the name tags on the plants. It just ain't worth the trouble.
