I haven't grown a lot of blacks because I like the pinks and reds better for taste. That said:
Black Cherry is good. Large plant, productive, not a cracker (in my garden), taste changes based on time in season and ripeness. In other words, it can be bland if eaten at an off time, or wonderful if picked at its peak. Carbon. Good taste, nice looking tomato. Not terribly productive in my hands. Cherokee Purple. Lots of people say this is their favorite tomato, so if you haven't tried it, you should. I have trouble with this one with disease tolerance when others around it are doing fine. Black Plum. A little bit of a spicy aftertaste for me when picked at the right stage of ripeness. I grew it for several years back in the late 90s-early 00s but not since. I don't recall any particular trouble with cracking or other problems.
