My Early Annie not true!
If you received your seeds from me, I am sorry to have to report that I think they are not true. I'm sorry not to have realized this sooner, but here is what happened.
I received the seeds from a swap in 2013 and I thought they grew true BUT now I think they were crossed and F1. In the fall, I noticed a PL seedling in the Early Annie pot on the deck, and couldn't figure out how it got there because everything growing in that area was RL, and my veggie garden is a long way from my deck. I gave all the original (F1) seeds to a friend who starts some early compacts for me in mid-Feb so that I can have tomatoes in mid-June. Being F1, they are all RL dwarfs, so I never noticed a problem. Each year, I save some seeds, and I have given these to various swaps, thinking that they were true. However, I have only just discovered all of this when growing E.A. seedlings for somebody down here in NC. The one that I kept was PL!!!!! Since I germinated a few seedlings, I gave the others to a friend, and she mentioned that she got PL and RL plants, after starting some of the seeds that I gave her last year!!! Anyway, I'm very sorry if you have grown these seeds and have been disappointed. |
